I know I havn't updated in a while, but there are a few announcements to make. First off, I will not be mass producing a NESp due to lack of time and funding. I may just make a single one that I may sell, but I will not be selling these in mass quantities.

Within the next month, I will probably be finishing my PSoneP. I may actually write a How-to. There are some things on it that will make building one quite easy that no one has done before. Therefore, making your own might not be too hard.

The next item of business is that I am in the Market for a Neo Geo AES, because I want to make it protable. I don't actually want a portable Neo Geo, so I would be willing to make one for someone, but only if they provide parts. I would probably charge about $100 (not including parts) to build this. If you are interested in this, e-mail me at daleighan@gmail.com or PM me (daleighan) on the benheck.com forums.

Well, today I started work on the design and prototype for a mass-produced NESp. Features:
-Vacum-Formed Case
-A 72-pin neofami
-Will have a hipscreen (possibly with an Led mod)
-Will use 4 AA alkaline batteries (not rechargable)
-Will use smaller speakers than the Hipscreen ones
-Will have A/V out
-Will have A/C adapter port
-Will have external Controller inputs
-Will be slightly bigger than an orignal GBA
Note: this is all for the standard version.

The cost will probably be about $50-70 if you provide a screen and Neofami. That price will include the other parts that I need, but not shipping. There will be the following options for about the prices in parenthases:
-A/V in ($5)
-Switchable 5th battery allowing for use of rechargables ($7)
-Built-in battery charger ($5)
-Custom case colors (depends)
-I provide Neofami and Hipscreen ($60-75)

I will probably be done with a first prototype by the end of my christmas break. Production will probably start soon after that. The prototype will take that long because I have to make a vacum former, case molds and I have to design the circuitry.

This is a picture of the SNESp that I have already made. It has some problems that I might try to fix. There is a wire that occasionally shorts, there is no headphone jack, no power jack, the battery has gone bad (it is old) and it has no LED mod for the screen (so the battery life is short. After I fix these problems, I will probably add a new paint job and decals. Then I may put it up on ebay or sell it some other way.

Well, this is my new blog. It will have News about my portable games systems and my electronic projects. It will occasionally have reviews of games and gadgets.
